A Mental Health Day

One has to be responsible for one’s own mental health. Ergo, take a break when you need it. Blow the reasons against to the winds of neurosis, and stay thyself put. Re-solidify. A little earth.

One of those basic sanity tests involves detecting oneself as too spun-out. When you can’t decide which of too many options to pursue, take the most relaxed one. Take a break. Absolve yourself from the need for excuses and just do it.

Nobody else is going to look after you. If you push yourself beyond limits, you’ll eventually crash and be down for days. No benefit to your employer if, for lack of taking one day clear this week, you’re out all the next. No help to your family if they have to take care of you for days on end. You certainly know that being sick is no fun; nor is being grouchy, uncooperative and basically untoward.

Take a day off. Everybody wins; and as a special bonus, you stay sane.
